Who is Jesus?

"Do you really know Jesus?
It is often the case that people think they know about Jesus but have never encountered Him personally.
A belief system is then based upon another perspective  rather than reality."

let us explain the Jesus we know...
“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him:
I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God.
That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse.
You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronising nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to...”

What the Bible teaches us...

jesus is god

Jesus is not just a teacher or prophet—He is God in the flesh. From the beginning, Scripture reveals His divine nature. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus is the Word made flesh, fully God and fully man. He walked among us, revealed the Father, forgave sins, calmed storms, and rose from the dead. His divinity is the foundation of our faith. Knowing Jesus is God means we trust Him not only as Saviour but as Lord, the Alpha and Omega, the eternal One who reigns forever.

jesus  the son of god

Jesus is the Son of God, sent to redeem humanity and reveal the Father’s heart. His life, death, and resurrection demonstrate divine love and power. In Matthew 3:17, God declares, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Jesus, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life and became the perfect sacrifice for our sins. As the Son of God, He bridges the gap between heaven and earth. Through Him, we become children of God and heirs to eternal life. Believing in Jesus as the Son of God is the foundation of salvation and everlasting hope.

jesus became human

Jesus, though fully God, chose to become fully human to dwell among us and bring salvation. He entered our world not in power, but in humility—born as a baby, walking in our struggles, feeling our pain. John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” In becoming human, Jesus showed us God’s love in the most personal way. He faced temptation, sorrow, and suffering, yet without sin. His humanity means He understands us deeply and intercedes for us with compassion. Jesus became like us so that we could become like Him—restored, forgiven, and united with God forever.

jesus our saviour

Jesus is our Saviour, the One who came to rescue us from sin and death. His sacrifice on the cross opened the way to eternal life for all who believe. Titus 2:13 says, “We wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.” He paid the price we could never pay, offering grace, mercy, and redemption. Through His resurrection, He conquered the grave and gave us victory. Jesus saves not just our souls, but our lives—bringing peace, purpose, and hope. He is the only way, the truth, and the life. Our eternal Saviour.

jesus the miracle worker

Jesus, the miracle worker, revealed God’s power through signs and wonders that brought healing, hope, and transformation. He turned water into wine, gave sight to the blind, calmed storms, and raised the dead. These miracles weren’t just acts of power—they were expressions of divine compassion. In Matthew 14:14, it says, “He had compassion on them and healed their sicknesses.” Every miracle pointed to who He is: the Son of God with authority over all creation. Jesus still works miracles today—in hearts, lives, and circumstances. When we believe, we open the door for the supernatural to move. Nothing is impossible for Him.

jesus the life changer

Jesus is the ultimate life changer. When He enters a heart, everything transforms—darkness turns to light, despair to hope, and brokenness to healing. He called fishermen and made them disciples, forgave sinners and gave them new purpose. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, it says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Jesus doesn’t just improve lives—He completely renews them. His love restores identity, His truth brings freedom, and His presence brings peace. One encounter with Jesus can change a life forever. He still changes lives today—one heart at a time.

jesus in heaven

Jesus now reigns in heaven, seated at the right hand of God, interceding for us and preparing a place for His people. His ascension marked the completion of His earthly mission and the beginning of His heavenly ministry. Acts 1:11 says, “This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” Jesus is alive, glorified, and ruling with power and authority. From heaven, He watches over us, guides us through the Holy Spirit, and promises to return. Our hope is anchored in His eternal, heavenly reign.

jesus is love

Jesus is the perfect expression of love—selfless, unconditional, and eternal. He showed His love by laying down His life for us, even while we were still sinners. His love heals wounds, restores hope, and invites us into a relationship with God. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Jesus didn’t just speak about love—He lived it, touching the untouchable, forgiving the undeserving, and welcoming the outcast. His love never fails, never gives up, and never runs out. To know Jesus is to know love in its truest and deepest form.

jesus the HEALER

Jesus is the Healer, bringing restoration to bodies, minds, and souls. During His time on earth, He touched the sick, opened blind eyes, made the lame walk, and raised the dead. His healing power flowed from compassion and divine authority. Matthew 4:24 says, “People brought to him all who were ill...and he healed them.” But His healing isn’t limited to the physical—He heals broken hearts, shattered lives, and wounded spirits. Through His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus still heals today, offering wholeness to all who come to Him in faith. His touch transforms, renews, and restores completely.

jesus makes us feel clean

Jesus makes us clean by forgiving our sins and giving us a new life. Through His sacrifice on the cross, He offers complete cleansing from guilt and shame. The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9, NIV). Jesus doesn’t just cover our sins—He removes them. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18, NIV). In Him, we are made new, restored, and invited into a close relationship with God, free from condemnation.

jesus leads

Jesus leads us with love, wisdom, and purpose. As the Good Shepherd, He guides us through every season of life. In John 10:27 (NIV), Jesus says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” He leads us on the right path, offering peace and direction. Psalm 23:1-2 reminds us, “The Lord is my shepherd… He leads me beside quiet waters.” When we follow Jesus, we don’t walk alone—He walks with us, giving clarity in confusion and strength in weakness. Trusting His leadership brings security, purpose, and a deeper relationship with God each step of the way.

jesus our friend

Jesus is not only our Saviour but also our closest friend. He walks with us in every season, offering love, understanding, and companionship. In John 15:15 (NIV), Jesus says, “I no longer call you servants... Instead, I have called you friends.” This friendship is deep and sacrificial—“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13). Jesus listens, comforts, and stays close, even when others fail. His friendship brings peace, joy, and strength. With Jesus as our friend, we are never alone, and we can face life with confidence, knowing He is always near.
